Shout hooray!

This could be why I was a little late in posting Halloween pictures.

Our cute girl had her golden birthday and we partied for what seemed like 5 straight days!!!!

Here's a peek at just some of the fun!!!!

First - there was a dance clinic that she & her friends went to. These girls love to dance! A bonus was a friend's daughter was one of the teachers!

My sweet friend made the ballerina bear for her cake! She's amazing and the cake was delicious and I love her for taking the time to do this for us!

It was a great day with dancing, playing & cake - what more could a girl want?

Finally on her birthday morning she was greeted with streamers in front of her bedroom door and pancakes made by her dad which is tradition (the pancakes not the streamers).

Hope this sweet girl knows how much she is loved and don't know what we'd do without her!!!

Indiana Copeland!

Do you know what happens when you have "old" parents? The things they think are cool you think are cool therefore you have an "Indiana Jones" birthday party for your 8th birthday not really realizing that "Indiana Jones" is soooo 1980's!!!!

So what's a mom to do since you can't find any toys (with the exception of a Lego DS game) or party supplies still in stores? Well thank goodness for Amazon.com! And my wonderful friend who can make a cake look like anything!!!!

So here are just a few of our recent Indiana Jones birthday party for the 8 year old!

(taken by the 4 year old sister who couldn't swim)

7 and 8 year old boys + swimming + cake and ice cream = fun for all no matter what the theme!!! So glad they all had such a good time!

Lauren the Explorer

Last Saturday we had a party to celebrate the girl. She wanted a Do-Do-Do-Dora the Explorer (I think it's cruel the theme song does this to her name) party so we did the best we could. I consulted Pinterest of course! So I will link what I used so those who came up with it will get credit.

We had treat bags...the inspiration for which I took from this blog. I am very fortunate that I have a friend who improvised and I think the bags turned out really cute. Ours is now our Sunday bag used to carry stuff to church.

There were balloons...

Friends & gifts...

Crafts...

Dancing, flapping arms like a chicken...

Hopping, twirling...

All of which were part of a game I found here. The girls really seemed to enjoy it!

Last but not least there was cake with edible rocks!

Our little explorer seemed to have fun and really enjoyed having her friends over.

Little Girls

Today's thankful post is pretty easy. I'm thanking Heaven for Little Girls today!

4 years ago today we went to the hospital to bring our sweet baby girl into this world. We had a few uneasy moments during the pregnacy and we even got to visit an geneticist - but she arrived at 10:48 am (yes an epidural can work in 40 minutes!) quite healthy!

Through the years she has given us so much.

I don't know what we did without her and I'm glad we don't have to find out. So thankful for her today and everyday!

Birthday & Scrapbooking

As I mentioned recently - my son turned 7 (not sure how that happened!). He wanted a science party so we did our best to accommodate him.

We had some pre-party sports (to run off all that energy 6 & 7 year olds tend to have)

We made gliders, lava lamps, foam, slime, and lots of other chemical reactions.

For the finale...

We showed them the ever popular Diet Coke and Mentos! They really thought that was too cool!!!

Now I was fortunate as I handed off my camera to my sister and she snapped away. One thing of the things great about digital cameras is the ability to delete your mistakes! But if you're like me actually printing those pictures is way down on your list. I like that I can just email prints to family & friends or post on Facebook, but that doesn't help me with scrapbooking. See back in the day I was a scrapbooking fool! Those would be back in the day before kids!

Anyway - if you're like me and a little skeptical of digital scrapbooking do I have an offer and gift for you. I am hosting a giveaway of MyMemories Digital Scrapbooking software (a $39.97 value). You must enter by Sunday, December 18th at 7:00 pm central time.
  • Here's how to enter: visit mymemories.com and comment on this blog which digital scrapbooking kit is your favorite.
  • Follow MyMemories on Twitter.com and comment here that you did so
  • Like MyMemories on Facebook and comment here that you did so
  • Subscribe to The Copeland Colloquy (link on the side and comment)
Each comment counts as an entry. Make sure to enter a working email address (it will not be shared or posted). Winner will be drawn randomly after the contest closes and contacted immediately.

Here's the gift I mentioned...when you purchase a copy (available as both a digital download and CD version) of My Memories Suite Digital Scrapbooking Software and use the promo code STMMMS47642 you will receive $10 off the cost of the software (retail $39.97) AND $10 to spend in their digital store. This is a great deal! I think you’ll like it! It's very easy to use. You can choose to add embellishments or not. You can choose to add text or not...it's all up to you! And if you're more of a card maker - they can help with that too! The possibilities are great! I'll post some of my pages in a future blog so look for that!

Science Birthday Cake

So my boy turned 7 last week and he wanted a science party. Seems simple enough - but as I got to discovering, finding a cake for a science party was a little more difficult than I expected. So I turned to Lolo Cakes (lolocakeshop.blogspot.com) and this is what came my way...

Silly me didn't take a photo of him with the cake - not sure what I was thinking, but his quote was "Wow! That's so cool!!!"

So if you're in the OKC area - check out Lolo Cakes (lolocakeshop.blogspot.com). Especially if you have a unique need!

Birthday weekend

Wow! Busy weekend!

My delightful daughter turned 3 about 10 days ago, however we waited until this past weekend to have her Princess party. Sometimes it's easier to do things in the college town we live in when there is no football game. That and if there's no OU game her dad & I wold actually be there. (Just kidding...kind of...you know I did have a baby shower once that showed the OU/Baylor game but we're just that kind of enthuastic fans!)

This was her cake! It was as delicious as it looks!! My girl was thrilled!

This is my girl & her favorite Princess! She was so excited to have her come!

This is Princess Belle with all the princesses! Oh they sang, danced, marched, read a story, and enjoyed every minute!

I am forever grateful for the help received to make this day so special for her!

November

Wow! It’s only the 2nd and I’m feeling overwhelmed! We have a Cub Scout Raingutter Regatta this week and a birthday this weekend with guests for the day. We have parent/teacher conferences and a birthday party next weekend for the birthday girl! Then we have Thanksgiving. One of my favorite holidays, but with the passing of Dad will be understandably different this year.  We’re still kicking around how we’re going to celebrate. I have all these additional events and lists of things that need to be accomplished. Sadly I have no energy to do it! Guess I better find some caffeine and just GET IT DONE!!!

Wish me luck!
