Pinewood Derby

Pack 221 Pinewood Derby...lots of cars and lots of fun!!!

For this derby he and his dad created a tank.

There were 13 in his den which competed...he earned a 4th place medal.

This was the Pinewood Derby car that
he made for the derby in Pack 258.
He raced both against each other and
it shocked me but the tank won!

He loves being in two Cub Scout packs. The differences in each pack I think are what he enjoys most! He had fun at both derbies.

December 2013 in all it's glory

So I was looking at my blog...I really need to manage my time better!!!  Anyway I decided that one of my resolutions should be to at least do a post once month. Maybe I can muster that!!!

Since I didn't even post December here's a picture tribute to the craziness that is December...

December 3rd I had the opportunity to see Donny & Marie in concert in OKC. It was a Girls Night outing and we had a lot of fun!!!

One Saturday we baked & frosted cookies.

I just love my little helpers!

Then it was time for the "winter" parties as school. I call them Christmas parties and I always will. I'm a rebel like that. Anyway - 2 parties fortunately at 2 different times. Next year I will not be as lucky, but at least the parties will still be in the same school.

Next it was the ICE storm. Yes, that is my tree missing it's limb...

That was quickly followed by throwing reindeer food into the yard because SANTA is coming!!!!

Look at the presents Santa left us...

Notice Santa remembered the eye protection!

For me one of my favorite family traditions is the abundant Italian buffet we have with our family & friends. 2013 was the last Christmas with our friend Kalin as he will be on his mission this time in 2014. These pictures don't even do it justice!!!!

After Christmas we were able to have floor seats at an OKC Thunder game. OH MY, if you EVER have the chance...do it. Such an amazing way to see a game!!!!

Love my THUNDER!!!!

We ended the year by going to Wichita to retrieve the kids who had fun without us!

HAPPY 2014!!!

Birthday #9

I can not believe I was so busy that I some how didn't post about RTC's birthday that was in DECEMBER?!?!?

He had the traditional birthday pancakes! Scott really enjoys
this part of the birthday…these happen regardless of the day
of the week the actual birthday falls on.

Then we had a few friends come to Bart Conner's Gym for some jumping, sliding, & all out fun!!!

I apologize to our son - maybe next year when I'm not taking as many hours online I will post sooner!!!

Shout hooray!

This could be why I was a little late in posting Halloween pictures.

Our cute girl had her golden birthday and we partied for what seemed like 5 straight days!!!!

Here's a peek at just some of the fun!!!!

First - there was a dance clinic that she & her friends went to. These girls love to dance! A bonus was a friend's daughter was one of the teachers!

My sweet friend made the ballerina bear for her cake! She's amazing and the cake was delicious and I love her for taking the time to do this for us!

It was a great day with dancing, playing & cake - what more could a girl want?

Finally on her birthday morning she was greeted with streamers in front of her bedroom door and pancakes made by her dad which is tradition (the pancakes not the streamers).

Hope this sweet girl knows how much she is loved and don't know what we'd do without her!!!

Halloween

It's hasn't been a week yet, so this isn't late right?!

This year we had a Brave princess and a hunter...but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Scott asked RTC when he wanted him to be serve with the WatchDOGS at school and Halloween was chosen. So Scott spent Halloween at the school. If you don't know much about the WatchDOGS program you can go here and find their Facebook page. They're a great organization helping to get more dads, step-dads, uncles, grandfathers into the schools. This year Scott split his time between am Pre-K & 3rd grade. Next year he'll have to have 2 separate days...

Then that night it was trick-or-treating. I've started an online degree program that has mandatory Thursday night meetings, so he was on his own with Merida & Jase Robertson.
  • The girl didn't want to wear a wig so we sprayed her hair red...
  • Not sure if this is much of a costume for him (other than the facial hair & wig) as he had the pants & shirt...

Bottom line - they met up with some friends and had fun...and those things are what make great memories!

PTA Fundraiser

Here are a few pictures of the kids at the recent Rough Rider Run -  our annual PTA fundraiser.

My friend took this picture - hard to believe
she'll be 5 in a few weeks.

They seemed to have fun - I believe it was a successful endeavor for the school. Could they be any cuter?

1st Position

As I've said before (which you can find here) I was not a dancer growing up. I had lots of friends who were, I however opted for sports. The last 2 years she had this magnificent company which came to her daycare. They also hold classes in other locations and their teachers are great! So if you have a Tippi Toes franchise in your area I highly recommend them!

But yesterday was her first day taking ballet at a dance studio and she was super excited. Bless her heart it was all she could do to contain herself! I can tell she paid attention because she was showing me 1st position and last position. What's great for her is that I really don't know, she could be making it up!

I hope I can get pictures of her while she's in class. The joy on her face is really hard to describe or believe that she's really just that happy! Here's to many more classes of sheer joy!
