D A N C E 2012

I figured this would happen as soon as I figured out how to upload videos. Here's another one! La had her 1st dance recital Saturday.

She's the cute one on the right. The lighting was clearly done for the professional videographer they hired, but hey - I tried!

They did a really good job!!! So glad she enjoys it!!

back track

I looked at my camera today and found pictures from April that I didn't download. I hate it when I do that. Anyway...

This would be the kids on Easter. We had a hunt with friends earlier in the week so Easter morning was just a hunt for the 2 of them. Easter was also our 23rd wedding anniversary - so we had lots to celebrate!

Then at the end of April Chesapeake Energy held a Daddy/Daughter Dance for their employees. All the primping must have tired her out as she fell asleep at dinner, however I know the dance is a tradition she'd like to keep! Don't they make a dashing couple?!

Mother's Day

How could I not write about mothers today? I have been so blessed to have the mother I have. She has taught me so much. I've also been blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law that beats all the sterotypes. I'm so grateful that my family & Scott's family get along so well. That we can have holidays and birthday celebrations together. What a blessing that is!

May you have a fabulous Mother's Day!

I can only humbly say "Thank You" for all things which they have done for me & my family.

Piano recital

Music has been Robert's thing since he was a tiny baby. We've taken Kindermusik classes. We've always tried to encourage his music. Thursday was a formal recital for him.

(Look out - I sort of learned how to use Youtube.com!) It's a short video and we're pretty happy with his performance. If you would have heard the practice leading up to it, you'd be shocked!!! I guess that's why they call it practice.

Carnival

We did something last week I never thought I would.

Yes - we took the kids to a carnival! And you know what - everyone survived!!! In fact, everyone had a REALLY GOOD time!

I guess I bought into all the scary hype the news typically shares when carnivals/fairs come to town. The news usually highlights that kids are being taken, drunks are every where and from my own experience, the incessant whinning by children. It had me convinced that I didn't want to take the kids to a carnival, EVER. However, we must have gone early enough in the evening to miss the kidnappers, drunks, and over stimulated kids because everyone had a great time! I wish beyond wishes I could have taken a picture of the 4 of us on the "Sizzler" (photo below). It's the ride that basically throws you from side to side. The kids laughed so hard and smiled the whole time. It was incredible to witness.

I don't know that I'm quite ready to undergo the State Fair yet, but the excitement and laughs we shared are what memories are made of!!
