Tonight my boys are camping in the Wichita Mountains (yes there are some mountains in Oklahoma - they should be on a map) so that leaves me with our girl. All week I had planned on popping a video in for her and do some much needed scrapbooking. (I have A LOT to catch up on!) Once I popped in the new video I found myself drawn to just watch it with her. Not that my original idea wouldn't have been OK - but I thought maybe in a few years she may not want me to watch movies with her. So me & my sweet almost 3 year old ate some popcorn & watched "Tangled". Not a bad movie and a lovely way to spend our evening. I hope we have more of these nights in the future! Gosh I wish time could stop or at least slow down...
A little of this - a little of that...thoughts, stories, ideas, dreams, et. al.

Sick Day
Today is a sick day - not for me but for La. It started EARLY Saturday morning - hopefully the worse is over and the doctor today will tell us we no longer have to give her breathing treatments.
Regardless of how she feels - she looks marvelous!!! Guess that's what happens when you're a child of a parent who lived thru the 80's. (You know it is better to look good than to feel good!)

New Stuff
I love new things. And they don't even have to be brand new, just new to me. When it's something real good I can hardly contain myself. I just want to share! Keeping Christmas presents a secret was tough for me to do...I just get so excited!
So yesterday I received the photos from a family photo shoot we took this past weekend. Wow! The photos of our kids to me are amazing. She captured the personality of these two little blessings so well. See for yourself...but I'll warn you...you might be spoiling your Christmas card.

You'd almost think they like each other - almost respect in their eyes
This is usually the view we have of them. RTC taking off & La trying to keep up.
This one is his favorite - you can see the OU watertower in the background & that makes him smile. The fact that he wants the OU watertower in the background makes his dad & I smile.
We had a lovely morning that was windy but that didn't deter us. Look at this angel.
It started to rain during this portion - but we were all troopers. This is on the steps to the building Scott spent most of his time while at OU. Hard to believe it's been 10 years since he earned his degree.
Here's one of all of us and the OU watertower...guess who likes this one?!

Aww...Game day
Yay! Game day is here! Not just any game day either. It's OU vs. Texas. Sooners vs. Longhorns. It's a true rivalry. It's tradition (likely to change in the not so distant future the way the sport seems to be going)! It's an amazing spectacle to watch, whether from the comfort of your home or in the raucous Cotton Bowl stadium. It's unlike most games. It's a neutral field (well, it's still in Texas as Coach Switzer points out). It's the type of game that can make or break a season. It's the type of game the players look forward to from year to year. It's the type of game that's circled on the schedule in January. It's 50 yard line to 50 yard line (see below) of hatred.
They say you always remember your first as your fondest. I was lucky enough to have my first OU/TX game be a win for the Sooners! The last OU/TX game I was able to attend was Super as in I was in the stadium when Roy Williams blitzed and became SUPERMAN and the Sooners recovered Chris Simms' mistake for a touchdown! What a memory.
Someday I'll take my little Sooner fans, when they are much bigger Sooner fans in years. For now - I'll be content rooting for the Sooners from home. In spirit though - I'm in Dallas today baby!

Humbled
It's interesting - I now am in the "lost a parent" club. I'm sure that really won't hit me until the holidays. What I can tell you is how humbled I was this past week. From the friends of my siblings to my own friends it seemed like every time we needed something there was a knock at the door or a call on the phone. What amazing people!
These are just a few of the lovely ladies I am lucky enough to call friend. I am truly humbled.
